CINDERELA Consortium meeting finally all together!

After two years of COVID restriction, the CINDERELA project consortium finally held a joint meeting in Maribor, Slovenia on 27-30 of June.  We have not only presented and discussed the progress of our project and actions towards its end but implemented some internal workshops - this is the way we like to work together best.

Through interactive sessions we have addressed the development and validation of the CINDERELA One stop shop (CinderOSS) to maximise its exploitation for the future, the ETV feasibility studies of new SRM based materials and our dissemination efforts. Everybody were excited to visit the Slovenian demo case site at Dogoše, where our partner NIGRAD is demonstrating the use of novel secondary raw material (SRM) based construction materials for revitalising a degraded area. We could see how CINDERELA changed this site from this:

providing necessary infrastructure with the use of SRM based materials:

• ground levelling with a geotechnical material made out of pre-sorted, pre-prushed and sieved construction waste,
• access road  4 different sections made from different types of processed construction and demolition waste materials (recycled concrete rubble, waste asphalt, mixed construction and demolition waste, fly ash),
• small building facility and partition walls for material storage area made with concrete blocks with 100% input of recycled aggregates)

Now, the revitalised site demonstrates and added value and creates new business opportunities for NIGRAD operations - all done with secondary raw materials  locally available.  An example to follow!.

After all,  international projects are not only about work. They are also about learning each other  and enjoying spending time in our CINDERELA company.
