Involvement in the project

ZAG is coordinator of the project, including all aspects of project managing. ZAG’s experience is based on involvement and coordination of numerous EU- and national-funded projects in the past 20 years. Beside project coordination, ZAG leads the following research and technological activities: (i) characterization and validation of waste properties according to its potential for use as SRM-based raw materials, (ii) development of tailored made recipes for SRM-based construction products according to availability and needed properties for intended use, testing and their assessment, and (iii) planning, leading and supervising real-scale demonstrations. ZAG also contributes to (iv) material flow data in urban and peri-urban environments with focus on their future implementation, (v) assessing framework for sustainable urban and peri-urban construction (providing information on assessed needs, barriers, encouragements, legal perspectives, innovation potential in the field in different parts of Europe as well as technical data); (vi) to the development, optimisation and exploitation of CINDERELA Circular Economy Business Model
(CinderCEBM) and CINDERELA One-Stop-Shop (CinderOSS) service; (vii) assessment of sustainability of CinderCEBM from the point of whole value chain of products as well as from the point of service; (viii) development of proposal for suitable demand-side measures (e.g. Green Public Procurement (GPP) criteria, End-of-Waste (EoW) protocols, awareness raising, communication and training tools) and to (ix) active communication, dissemination and exploitation, upgrading existing global, European and national
communication channels. All these is done based on scientific and research excellence, technological development, business supporting (including different types of certification and approvals issuing, independent supervision), communication, training and awareness raising, as well as supporting national- and EU-based policy and legislation development.
